Photography Challenge :: Weeks 1, 3, 4

My good friend Debbie hooked me up to a fun photo challenge. I am going to try and keep up with the one photo a week pace. So far this is what I have.

Week 1 :: Self-Portrait

Needless to say this was quite painful to do. In fact I so hated the idea I just sat by the window, held the camera at arm's length and hoped for the best. I do like the texture of my hair.

Week 3 :: Winter

Yep, winter here is brown, and I really wanted to capture the brown-ness of it all with this shot.

Week 4 :: Macro

The challenge this week was to take a macro shot without a macro lens (actually you could use a macro lens if you had one, but most of us do not). Here's the article I used to help me out. I was actually pretty pleased with this one. I shot it at 300mm from about five feet away.

So where is week 2, you ask? Yeah, the theme for week 2 was "peace." I am really trying, but right now I've got nothing for that one. *sigh* Maybe it will come.

  1. The photos are beautiful, Pam! Actually, the self- portrait is my favorite. Love the focus on your eye. For just pointing and shooting, it turned out great!

  3. Pam,

    I could never take such a close up shot of my face: far too many lines, especially around my eyes! I'm just not that brave.

    I love your photos.I especially like macro shots. I must follow your link!

  4. Thank you everyone! Elizabeth -- I did point and shoot about nine times to get what I wanted. Sue - I don't worry about the wrinkles as much as the uneven skin coloring. Love the B&W for that!
